March 2014: Set a goal to run a half marathon in August.
August 2014: Ran first half marathon. Had sense of accomplishment. Felt let down that it was over. Signed up for next half in October.
October 2014: Ran second half. What's next?
Prior to 2014, I had not run more than a 5K. Most of my runs were hardly runs--I could run on a treadmill while reading a book and be content with that pace. Perhaps life will lead me back there someday, but for now I have moved into a different phase of my life as a runner. Now, I think of myself as a distance runner. I made the transition. It's not for everyone, but I think there are more people with an undiscovered heart of a runner out there. Maybe this log of my journey will be inspiration for them.
Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears. ~John Lennon
